How Do Botox and Microneedling Work Together?

The Botox and microneedling combo is a quick and safe treatment for most patients and skin types. The can be used alone or together, the more modalities we use the better our results are optimized. The medical provider cleanses the patient’s skin, applies a numbing cream 30 minutes before the procedure, and then makes tiny punctures on the patient’s skin with a microneedling pen that is FDA and Health Canada approved. This stimulates collagen and elastin production and regenerates the skin.
Botox can be injected during the procedure or it can be injected seperately at a different appointment.
How does Botox work? It simply relaxes the muscles that cause movement that is responsible for the wrinkles that form on contraction. Botox is a treatment that lasts about 3-4 months, hence we recommend retreatment every 3-4 months to provide optimal rejuvenating results!

Microneedling and Botox: Benefits

Microneedling and Botox work together to provide rejuvenated, glowing skin. Patients report the following benefits of the combined treatments:

  1. Acne and acne scars: Microneedling can help reduce the appearance of acne scars by stimulating collagen production, which can improve skin texture and smooth out scars. There is also new evidence emerging that Botox can be used to treat scars!
  2. Wrinkles and fine lines: Botox and microneedling are both used used to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting muscle relaxation, collagen and elastin production, which helps plump and tighten the skin.
  3. Uneven skin tone: Microneedling can improve hyperpigmentation, sunspots, and uneven skin tone by stimulating the skin's natural healing process and promoting cell turnover.
  4. Stretch marks: Microneedling can help fade the appearance of stretch marks by encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, which can improve the texture and appearance of the affected area.
  5. Large pores: Microneedling and Botox may reduce the size of enlarged pores by stimulating collagen production, which can tighten and improve skin texture.
  6. Overall skin texture: Both microneedling and Botox can enhance overall skin texture, making it smoother and more radiant by promoting collagen synthesis and skin rejuvenation.
  7. Microneedling alone can help treat and manage rosacea and redness prone skin types, Milia, keratosis pilaris, Sebhorrhoea (excessive oily skin), Telangiectasia and sun spots and hyperpigmentation / hypopigmentation.

The procedure is minimally invasive, has no downtime, and provides natural-looking results.
