Understanding Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are transformative skin treatments that harness the power of medical-grade solutions to exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin. By delicately removing the outer damaged layer, these treatments stimulate new cell growth, revealing a fresher, healthier complexion underneath.

Perfect for tackling issues like active acne, signs of aging, and sun damage, chemical peels are a non-invasive route to revitalized skin. They work to diminish discoloration, balance skin tone, refine texture, and reduce scarring, thereby unveiling your skin's natural glow and youthful resilience.

Experienced Providers

Our chemical peel services are performed by highly trained and experienced medical providers, ensuring that you receive safe, effective treatment. Our team's expertise ensures that your skin health is in the best possible hands.

Comprehensive Consultation

Prior to your treatment, we provide a comprehensive consultation to discuss your skin concerns and goals. This allows us to tailor the chemical peel process to your specific needs, maximizing results and client satisfaction.

Your Chemical Peel Journey

Chemical peels can work wonders on various skin types and conditions, but they may not be suitable for everyone. Certain individuals, such as those who are pregnant or lactating, have a history of allergic reactions to the peel's active ingredients, or have hypersensitive skin, might need to consider other treatments. We encourage anyone interested in this transformative procedure to schedule a consultation with us.

Our skilled practitioners apply the peel to your skin, focusing on your specific problem areas. Post-treatment, you can expect a significant improvement in discoloration, uneven skin tone, acne, texture, and scarring. The peel also works to reduce signs of sun damage. While we commonly treat the face, neck, chest, back, and hands, we can customize the treatment area based on your needs. To achieve optimal results, we usually recommend 2 to 3 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Maximizing Your Results: POST-PEEL CARE

After undergoing a chemical peel treatment, proper post-care is essential to maximize your results and minimize potential side effects. First, gentle cleansing is crucial; use a mild cleanser to remove impurities without disturbing the skin's healing process. Hydration is equally important; use an ultra-hydrating moisturizer and avoid retinoids, topical acne medication, and Alpha/Beta Hydroxy Acids for 5 to 7 days post-treatment. Protecting your skin from the sun is also key; always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen before stepping outdoors.

Possible side effects include redness and peeling, which usually last between 5-7 days. In rare cases, you may experience changes in skin color or a reactivation of the herpes simplex virus. If any side effects seem unusual, please contact us immediately. Following these guidelines diligently will help ensure your skin heals beautifully and you enjoy the full benefits of your chemical peel.

FAQs

We understand that you may have questions about our chemical peel services. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive and their detailed answers to help you make an informed decision.

  • How long does it take to see results after a chemical peel?

The timeline for visible results from a chemical peel can vary greatly depending on the depth of the peel, your individual skin type, and the specific concerns being addressed. Generally, after a medium or deep peel, you may start noticing improvements in your skin's texture and tone within a week to ten days following the treatment. For significant changes such as reduction in discoloration, acne, and signs of aging, they may become more apparent after a series of treatments, typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. However, it's important to remember that everyone's skin responds differently to treatment, and patience is key to achieving desired results. Regular use of high-quality skin care products and diligent application of sunscreen will also support the healing process and enhance your results.

  • Can I wear makeup after a chemical peel?

While it might be tempting to cover up any redness or peeling with makeup, we strongly recommend avoiding makeup application for at least 24 to 48 hours following a chemical peel. This allows your skin to breathe and recover optimally from the treatment. Applying makeup too soon can potentially lead to irritation or clog your pores, impeding the healing process. After this period, if your skin is no longer sensitive, you may resume your normal makeup routine, but it's crucial to remember to always cleanse your face thoroughly at the end of the day to maintain your skin health.

  • Are there any activities I should avoid after a chemical peel?

Post-treatment care is vital in ensuring the success of a chemical peel. After a chemical peel, your skin will be sensitive, especially to sunlight. Therefore, we advise limiting sun exposure for at least a week post-treatment and always wearing a broad-spectrum SPF when outdoors. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after the treatment as excessive sweating can irritate your skin. Furthermore, heat generated from intense workout can increase inflammation. It's also crucial to refrain from picking or peeling your skin during the recovery period, even if it starts to flake, to prevent scarring and ensure optimal results. During the healing process, your skin will naturally exfoliate and may appear dry or flaky. It is important to let this process occur naturally.
